In response to the continuing COVID-19 public health emergency, the Governor’s Office has issued guidance on a reopening strategy for state agencies and authorities based on region. NYSED employees should visit our dedicated NYSED employee COVID-19 web page for guidance and resources on reopening. We will continue to provide updates as new information becomes available.

The world's education systems vary widely in terms of structure and curricular content. Consequently, it can be difficult to compare national education systems with those of other countries or to benchmark progress towards national and international goals. The Fletcher Building Employee Educational Fund ( EEF ) is a private trust fund.Persons eligible to apply under the Trust Deed are Fletcher Building employees based in New Zealand, Australia and the South Pacific Islands.

Entitled to receive a free appropriate public education under the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA). ( IDEA is discussed later in the pamphlet.) In general, all school-age children who are individuals with disabilities as defined by Section 504 and IDEA are entitled to FAPE. Secondary Education Note: The Department of Education Studies offers secondary or EC-12 certification preparation through general coursework and a secondary education minor. Students may obtain certification through coursework if their major does not accept the secondary education.

As a necessary precaution, access to all State Education Department buildings will be restricted to visitors until further notice.
