One of the Most messed up stories I read so far. As I read chapter after chapter emotions of the characters are transmitted to reader in waves. Some bad, some bitter, some happy but why... I can't see happy ending(I read half of it). It's so weird. at times I like one character next other then I hate every single one. It's so messed up, that you will like it. Hahahaa... my poor mind... I hate you Author, but at the same time love your work. You know how to play with emotions. If I ever see you I will shake your hand and then hit you. I pray that my love will never be like that I would die several times. Christ... 75 of 75 chapters read Inukanura(All reviews)

i never though my life experience will exist as a manga form that is Usotsuki Paradox. every chapter reminds me of the bitterness that i had in the past with the one i loved. clearly i cannot view this manga on objective view, because this one really close at home. i feel like i’ve reading my life again, thinking how stupid their decision was until i realized i’ve done this too. i feel hurt just to see how similiar is my resemblance with the character, even until the end. you’ll never knew how logically possible this manga is until you actually experience on how pathetic you can be for someone you love so much, how you can go to lowest of low of your dignity, just for the one you love. how willingly you to do anything, just for the one you love. and yes, it’s all lie that you’ve made up because you’re afraid. i was once that too. 4 characters here. Seiyuu, Youkadou, Mai and Kazuki, are major character that influence the story of love and lies that makes us excited, shocked, and disgusted. “Romance where nobody gets hurt is a delusion, what you’re doing is protecting yourself and avoiding responsibility.” this is the manga summed up in one sentence i want to give a review subjectively as i retell my real life resemblance with this manga. -from this point on, i will start dropping Spoiler.- to tell you how similiar the resemblance with me?, yes, i shared too, that’s the lowest i’ve ever been and i’ll never planned to witness that experience again. you think this is some kind of a good fetish and it’s good that the problem is resolved, but no, it hurts so bad. i utterly respect Kazuki for what he’s done, he willingly to put a facade for a long time just to make everything works out, to make everything just like what it was, to keeping up everything together, at least for Kazuki and Seiyuu, despite the fact it doesnt, and it never will. and yes, i was once cheating with my own childhood friend. just like Kazuki. when i read this manga, i was very surprised how this turns out to be an exact mirror of my life, and what makes me sad is that the story of their relationship also ends up exactly like my life. i can list almost 80% of the similiar resemblance, but i think that’s not the point. all i can say is that, this manga hits me on personal level that i can’t even imagined, it hits you with a realization that even the most seemingly absurd concept, can even worked out in real life. what seemingly impossible, possible. love fueled with lies can’t never be put out, once you jump there, you’ll never go back, comforting lies is always appealing, until you realize how much damaged you put, that you cant even shows the truth anymore. these character is an embodiment of trash. all of these people, using lie to forge your way to the top of your fake happiness. but just because it’s trash doesnt mean it’s neccesarily untrue. because becoming an adult doesnt mean we become a good people.... “to become an adult means to be good at telling lies, right?”

***I apologize but unlike my other reviews this one contains spoilers throughout the entire review.*** Never in my life have I been so motivated to write a review even though it's like 2AM here. What started out as a funny ecchi comedy ended in the worst possible manner. Let's dive into why Usotsuki Paradox is a manga you should avoid. Story: 2/10 I'll admit that the opening chapters had me quite interested in what was going on. Essentially the main female lead is part of a 'long distance' relationship and decides that it would be ok for one of her co-workers to provide 'emotional support'. It starts out all innocent but they eventually move onto things that can never be forgotten. The thing is, this is not a bad plot device. In fact I really enjoyed the manga up until this point. The drama was intensifying as we had almost no data on the mystery long distance boyfriend and all our eggs was in the current basket. What happens later on of course is that she goes to see mystery man and that just fu$#s up the whole rest of the manga. No joke it gets to the point where they actually tag team her. Gross. This manga had a lot of good things going for it but it descended into a lackluster reverse harem and when it tried to redeem itself by giving the main male lead a new flag to pursue, we get the cliché 'they end up together anyways' (talking about the main male lead and the female lead). What's worse is that the author tries to make you think that it was the main male's fault for everything even though the female lead was ok with cheating on her own boyfriend. The only positive things I can say that were constant throughout the entire manga was the comedy and art style (see below). The reason why I am not supplying names is because most of the manga is un-translated and while my Japanese is ok, names are still tough to pick out of the mess. Art: 9.5/10 This aspect of the manga I actually really, really liked. Even though it looks a little messy and undefined, the way the characters were drawn really had me engaged. The female lead had really large inviting eyes and the male lead looked quite mature. The background scenes were very well done and all the side characters looked amazing as well. Characters: 2/10 They really fell off the deep end in the second half of the manga. We get introduced to some asshole that we are somehow supposed to root for. The one strong female character in the manga decides to go soft and allow the male lead to get away, and the friends of the female lead do little to no help in resolving the conflict. The only character I really liked was the main male lead as he was pretty much tricked and provoked into initializing the faux relationship. Overall: 4.5/10 The ending chapters really made me want to gag. Not only was it cliché as hell and disgusting beyond belief, it completely ruined what the first part of the manga tried to establish. If you want an ecchi comic then here is one; just be warned that any emotional attachment will just make you want to hate it even more in the end. Enjoyment: START 9/10 ENDING 0.001/10 Thanks for reading my review! If you liked my writing style, would like to see some other reviews, or just want to talk, please stop by my page! lies lies lies lies lies. . . . the fact that i can't grasp with all the thing that was going on was probably because i never had an actual girlfriend. feeling all the love, lies, pain, sacrifice,.. reading this really opens up new things for me, making me realize everything is not how it looks. . but tbh tho, this manga has a strong beginning, promising, yet full of disappointment. i'm completely hooked with how things were going on at first, but going through the middle of the story and then to the end... i asked my self, what am i reading? . i can understand how things unfold into that rute but still, why did it led to this path? . anyway, it was quite enjoyable, yet very sad and disappointing. especially the end, lies lies lies, everything is a lie. . i'm not disappointed of the manga, i'm disappointed with my self, for not understanding every little bit of it. . maybe i should start writing my romance?

Usotsuki Paradox RawUsotsuki Raw MovieYes she broke up with both of them, but only because she couldn't find a way for everyone to be happy. She even had an affair because she thought about her best friend happiness, even though that best friend had an affair with her boyfriend. She does those things one sided, she tries not to show her pain, because she wants to help others, but doesn't want others to be forced to help her. Which results in a lot of contradictions because when both want the other to be happy but can't think of any other way then actually breaking up. Well sure threesome part was weird in some way, but hey I actually liked this unorthodox approach to relationship. And it is truly about both guys trying their best to make her happy. Which is also selfless in it's own way. I also saw that some people didn't like the ending, but I had them shipped from chapter 1 myself, so I have no problem. Even after seeing the side of her 5 years boyfriend it got only reinforced for me, because he looked more like a guy who took advantage of naive inexperienced girl than actually a love interest. While she actually ends up with the person she truly loves no strings attached and who loves her back in the same way. |
